Inventor of Telephone Sees Radio Future
Wireless days for commercial telephoning have arrived. The radiophone has been taken from the "plaything" class. Alexander Graham i'ell, inventor of the telephone, smiles as he recalls that his invention received the same public reception. The Bell Company announced the opening of a million dollar radio broadcasting station at New York. Similar plants are to be built in other cities throughout the U. S. Services may be had for any purposes except advertising, say officials. This new photo of Mr. Bell was taken at Atlantic City. With him i% his daughter, Mrs.  Gilbert  Grosvenor.

WHY do men neglect church attendance? If you mean all men do not attend church you are in error. Ii is true that far too many stay away from divine worship. The following reasons can be assigned why certain classes neglect this important duty:
FIliST: A scaled Sabbath conscience sends men to the golf links, on the Holy Sabbath,
SECOND: The gasoline "mania causes thousands to take the family, the dog. and the lunch basket into the automobile early Sabbath morning when they begin to break the Ten Commandments, the speed laws, the rules of domestic tranquillity and Sabbath observance.
THIRD: Rcreenltis sends thousands into ^he motion picture houses, where they make a pagan attack upon God's Holy Day.
FOURTH: Laziness keeps thousands at home, wrapped in the bed clothes of indolence and filth�too indolent, sloven and filthy to dress and attend divine worship.
FIFTH: False conception of worship, or because the se 1*111 on is poor, or the minister worse than dead, they drift into the habit of neglecting church attendance.
SIXTH: A large number of those who stay away do so because they are plain pagans: their education is defective; their breeding is below the standard. They are just plain heathen. No well-bred, well-trained, modern, up-to-date, and otherwise normal man stays away from church services. The bum. gambler, fraud. embezzler, outcast, loafer, and the scum of the earth stay away from church. Behold the crowd with which the non-church-goer can be classed.
SEVENTH: There are thousands of  business,  professional,     political.
and official men who neglect church because they arc conscious of tin-fact that they are grossly sinful, selfish, conceited, derelict in the performance of their duties. They dread to face the gospel mirror wherein they can behold their own faces over which is written guilt. They know that if they face the gospel as expounded from Cod's infallible Word they will have to surrender their selfish, mean, conceited business and professional attitude toward the church and the gospel.
The conceited professional man tries to build for himself a code and produces a state of self-satisfied, self-righteous, and self-centered contentment, which he does not want disturbed by the courageous presentation of the full gospel of Jesus Christ. Men are neglecting to attend church because they are afraid to face the judgment gospel. Men are staying at home or they are going on the fields of pleasure or they are attending to business because of their innate and overt and continued meanness. They are trying to avoid the doctrine of responsibility, accountability, and judgment. They are foolish. Every sensible man ought to prepare to meet His Cod. Every desirable, worthy citizen ought to be found In his pew every Sunday morning worshipping God and paying his honest obligations to the | church of Josus Christ.
