isinj.' up his agreement with the icial authorities for the polic-. f the city- On Tuesday, May 5tH the day following the mating of the city council, when the suggested change was approved by the casting vote of the mayor, the sign-(l| agreement was in the mail and on its way to J. H. McMullin. super-intendent of provincial police. On Thursday a telegram was received from the superintendent, acknowledging receipt of the signed agreement, advising that the same was satisfactory to him, and that he was signing on behalf of the provincial government and would be prepared tn take over control on June 15th.
On 'his assurance the police commissioners decided to give notice to !��. \\ Shelton and F. S. Hodgson, the i.'.-Iubers of the present ^municipal force,'that their services would hot 1    required after this date.

Berlin, May 19.�The government will continue out the, provisions of the Dawes'pian for the payment of reparations, according to an assurance given, by Minister Streseman yesterday. No country, he stated, had welcomed the Dawes plan more heartily than Germany as a means for bringing about the economic pacification of Europe. No matter what changes might come-in the government of the country the minister said he could not conceive of any administration deciding to depart from the policy so {irmly established in connection with the Dawes reparations plan.
