Edmonton. Oct. 24�Walter Heath, a farmer of South Ferriby, together with his wife and seven-year-old son were burned to death on Monday night in a fire which destroyed the farmhouse.

London, Oct. 23.�Police officials are now of the opinion that W. H. Hos-kins is not guilty of the charge of killing William Galloway while in an automobile and under the influence of liquor. Hoskins was convicted last week, lax-gely on the evidence of a girl, and sentenced to five years imprison-ment in the penitentiary.
ONTARIO WILL LEGISLATE DECREPIT   MOTOR   CARS OFF PROVINCIAL HIGHWAYS
I Toronto. Oct. 24.�The decrepit mo-! tor car has become such a nuisance ; that a movement is now under way to j legislate all decrepit cars off the high-j ways. The new measure will require : cars to conform to a certain standard ; of efficiency before they will be permitted to use the highways.
