Planing mill operators contend that they pay high municipal taxes and are entitled to the watermain as a city service.
Mayor Bryant said that installation of a water system in the industrial area "must be considered, to same extent, as a sectional' benefit.,"
"Someone must pay^for the main and I don't thirfk the whole load should falFupon the city's tax payers,'>said the mayor.
Milipfficials say that they will already be faced with the high -cost of installing water systems at their own plants.

30-Minule Drought Caused By Missing Link in Pump System
Several hundred Prince George residents were without water for a few minutes Thursday afternoon when high winds blew down a tree .on the north face of Connaught Hill and carried away a remote control system wire which periodically activates big pumps in the city's Nechako River pumping station.
If the incident .had come 4S hours later when the installation of one of the most modern water control systems in B.C. had been completed, it would have gone unnoticed .and . water pressure would have remained normal throughout the city.
City engineering department officials explained that the only feature of the automatic water control system which was not yet installed was the one which the emergency called for.
The missing link, which has since been completed, consisted of an /alarm circuit which warns city officials when any of the automatic features of the supply system fail to operate.
Nucleus of the remote-control supply system is a highly sensitive pressure switch situated inside the 100,000 gallon storage tank atop Connaught Hill.
When water in the tank falls to a point about four' feet from the top, electrfcal impulses speed out from the pressure switch and energize an electronic control mechanism situated in the Nechako River pumphouse.
This control then turns on one of three large electrical pumps, which starts refilling the storage tank.
]f the tank is not. full within a brief interval, the control unit, then switches on a second pump, and, if it is still not full 20 minutes later, puts the third pump into operation.
When the tank is full the pressure switch signals this informa-
tion to the pumphouse and1 the pumps are automatically shut off.
To prevent.uneven wear of the units caused by the fact that the first pump to be turned on runs longer than the second, and third pinnps, a special device inside the control unit rotates the sequence so -that running .time remains equal.
The emergency warning system rings a bell in the fire hall below Connaught Hill whenever the pressure switch demands more water and the pumps fail to respond. In such cases the pumps will-be turned on and off manually.
.,Only higher portions of the city actually ran dry .Thursday and city officials believe that no place was without water for more than 30 minutes..
