He was named trustee of the estate of his mother, Mrs. Emily May Shaw in April, 1055. Embezzlement is alleged to have stated one month later, ending on Feb. 29, 195G.
The estate, valued at over $12, 000, included savings accounts, securities, bonds, a house and property  in  New Westminster.
Othqr beneficiaries of the estate were Shaw's immediate relations, Mrs. Margaret Fran-sen of Edmonton, Joanne Vietch of Edmonton, Jack Vietch of Saskatoon and Mrs. Mary Mitchell from Bridgenorth, Ont.
Shaw was entitled to one third of the estate, police said.
He was arrested May 17 and released on $2000 bail on May 2.

"1 don't find any extenuating cercumstances," the justice commented.
Shaw will serve the term in the H.C. Penitentiary at New Westminster.
Patterson Rejects $250,000 Offer
HOUSTON, Tex. (A I')�The president of Texas Boxing Enterprises Inc. said today the malinger of world heavyweight boxing champion Floyd Patterson has turned down a $250,000 offer for a title fight with Roy Harris.
Meyer Rex Braim said ho received a telegram this morning from (ins D'Amalu, Patterson's manager.
"Wo made the man an offer and he turned it down," Braun Bald. " It's as simple as that. There is nothing else we can do."
Patterson is scheduled to start intensive training Monday for a title defence, the nature of which has not been announced.
Harris, a school teacher. Is ranked No. 5 among heavyweight contenders. He has an undefeated record in 21 professional fights.

1.    Two   contestanst   for   each canoe.  They must continue  together as a team for the duration of the race. If one person drops out the team is disqualified,                                            j
2.  Age limit IG years and up.
3.    Canoes   for   the   Northwest Brigade Canoe race can be any standard    round   bottom    canoe similar1   to   those   manufactured by the Peterborough and Chest-Nut Canoe Companies.  No "V" bottom canoes will be allowed. Length   14   to   16 ft.   Beam   30 inches  minimum.
�1. Only single blade paddles may be used. (No spoon blades).
5.  Entries limited to men.
6. Contestants will be responsible for their own food and water.
7.  No portages will be permitted. There  will  be  checkers   at   irregular intervals along the route.
8.  Any disputes will be settled by a judges committee and their decision will be final.
9.   If  taking  a   course   directly behind  another canoe  the  contestant must keep at least three canoe lengths behind.
10.   Entrants   must be  able   to swim or must wear a life jaket.
11.  Entrants must provide their own    canoes    and    equipment. Extra paddles are allowed.
12.   Commercial   advertising  al-loAved   on   canoes   however   a $10.00 fee will be charged such canoes.
13.  All entrants must complete an entry form and sign waiver of   responsibility.   All   persons under the age of 21 muat have parent or guardiaji sign, waiver.
