Do We Show No Enthusiasm?
As a citzen of this town for the past throe years 1 would like to comment on q tVw iliin^* that I have found.
First of all th'e people sure don't appreciate anything thai is done for them, or If there's a show or sortething [Key just sit there .and show no enthusiasm.
They're just like tho trees thai surround them herethey have to be cut down before anything shows, and you have to practically beg them to applaud or even appreciate anything.
Another thing I'd like to comment on is about the Coliseum, as bis as '< 's- 'he accoustlcs are the poorest I've ever heard. . What's the mailer with the people here'.' They pay good money to see something and you've got lo practically sit on HiG sdage io hear anything. If I was an entertainer, I'd certainly not perform under such conditions.
It's a shame to have such a nice building and have it spoiled by a little thins like that, I've been here quite some lime now and can't say a darned nice thing about this place, and yet
you have to put up with it because you have to make a living \V. R. C.
Ball Park Far Out?
Too
If you think that this pas business is an Issue you just keep on trying to shove our ball park out of town. Certainly, a good park put there would "be a good thing, for special occasions, I'il'T 'just h'my are "or older citizens going to .net there? Walk'.' I ask you, will you lake a shQJft walk out there on a hot Sunday afternoon, or after supper some night?
It may interest you to know that. half, of the boys that play ball in these leagues-do not have transportation. How are they to get' there?
There is plenty of room for everything that we wanl ri^ht here In town, except an outdoor skating rink, (right in front of the Colls'eurn) and parking space for 1500 cars and it would not cost more than what, the city got for the hall park in town. ,
Perhaps you would do well to ask some sportsminded people how il could bo done.
Come on folks. If von don't want to sit in the Dust P.owl
and holler for the kids how about sitting at your own writ-inking desk and holler for them. JACK DEMPSEY 171H) (ith Aw.

To quote from a rival newspaper, I am "one of the few people y"ou meet these days who was born right here in the City." 1 have read the Citizen for years-and this Is the second occasion that jny feelings have been so aroused that 1 feel 1 must write a letter to the Editor,
In tne past week there have been two letters of criticism regarding the Royal Visit. While I realize we all had cause for complain;, 1 think it should be known, that neither the Mayor nor the City council had anything whatever to do with the arrangements of Princess Margaret's vi.-it. This was handled by the Province of British" Columbia and all Instructions were received from Mr. Pehhihgton, the Deputy Secretary of the Province even to the 'clothing to be worn by those presented.
Only three people in Prince George were presented to the Princessthe Mayor, the oldest
