Council Studies Parking 'Beefs' Complaints from residents in the Millar Addition sire'a oi , arking near the Catholic high school auditorium on "bingo nights" are being probed by the city. Aid. Harry Loder, chairman of council's traffic committee, last night referred the issue to the fire chief and police for investigation. Police are expected to enforce parking regulations in both the Millar Addition area and on streets near the Civic Centre where giant bingo games are held monthly. TWO FOREST FIRES ALREADY IN AREA The forest fire menace is here. Dennis MacDonald, B.C. Forest Service protection officer, says the service has already been called upon to fight two bush fires. He describes them both as "small, travellers fires" and says they caused only slight damage before being readily extinguished. One was near Vanderhoof and the other was in the Fraser Trench. The area covered amounted" to a few acres. � However, although the fires were small Mr. MacDonald says they are an "indication of, J^hat is to come." The 1959 fire season begins officially on May 1 and the forestry official says preparations are nearly complete at the 22 lookouts in the'Prince George Forest District. Aircraft "float tanks" are to be used extensively this year to fight the fire menace. Mr. MacDonald says one plane has already been equipped with the tanks and others will be equipped as they are needed. The tanks, used here for the first time last year, did not come into service until last August. The Island Cache School is presenting "The King's Cream-puffs" on Thursday afternoon in the Connaught Elementary auditorium With a cast of 15. Dwayrie Wallih will be the King, Heather McLeod the Queen, Shirley Neimer the Princess and Slawke Sedchke the Page. The hero is being played by Tony Douglas, with Gordon Ny-berg portraying Algernon. Gloria Garnet and Wanda Ma-mela arc playing the witches. Ladies in waiting are June Nybei'g, Lyn Vinson, Joan Lamb, Kenny Fidyk, Terry Trombley and Mildred Slater. Billy Bube is the baker. The presentation is being directed by Marie Blais. On Friday afternoon King George V will also present "The King's Creampuffs." Actors are Scott Williams, Betty Robertson. Unit aturday An official investigation has been launched into the fire which destroyed Crescent Lake School, '30 miles northwest of here Saturday. District police report that an investigator from the provincial fire marshall's office is expected to arrive tiere today to begin the probe. He was summoned by police shortly after the five razed the small, one-room school early Saturday causing damage estimated at about $7,000. The school's one teacher has a charge of 15 or 1G pupils. Parents are now transporting the children seven miles to the Chief Lake School where they will be accommodated on a temporary basis until facilities ave ince again provided at Crescent Lake. The clinic was held at Ihc Cariboo Health Unit on Sixth Avenue between 7 rind 0 p.m. Polio vaccine was administered to persons under -JO years of age. The clinic was handled by the Fort George Chapter of the Blistered Nurses' Association and vaccine was supplied free of charge by the Department of Health and Welfane. "WHEN GUTO RAN" is the play being staged this week by the Prince G-eorge Players at the eighth annual drama festival here.
