doctor � tor in the isolated Mahood dis district � trict told Thursday how she kicked a hungry cougar and got away with it Mrs Naismith said the cougar walked into her yard at her home at nearby Deception Point and began mauling the familys pet spaniel She kicked the cougar spraw sprawling � ling and it slunk off into the bush leaving the dog mauled but still alive Three men later tracked the cougar down and killed it It was the second recent in incident � cident here involving hungry cougars which game officials described as unusual at this time of year when food is plen plentiful � tiful
