morning BARKERVILLE CP The BC government Monday de decided � cided to let hospital improve improvement � ment districts raise their own money for hospital construc construction � tion Hospital improvement dis districts � tricts are formed in unorganized areas When a new hospital or a hospital addition is required the government pays 50 per cent of the cost the federal gov government � ernment 12 per cent and the district raises the rest In the past the government after hospital plans have been approved has advanced the im provement areas share of the money The government then received the money back through a special taxation The cabinet here on one of its periodic out-of-the-capital meetings has decided that the districts now should raise their own money through their own bond issue Premier Bennett said that if necessary the government would guarantee a bond issue with interest not exceeding 5V per cent The government is apparently hoping that the districts will raise
