debate on Forest Minister Ray Williston s budget estimates Gibson told the legislature the BC government got only 40 million from the industry last year only 4 per cent of the selling price of forest products Gibson said B C should get 100 million at least and the timber companies could well afford It The wealth Is not being shared very well he said Williston replied that the fed federal � eral and provincial govern governments � ments together got 256500 000 forest revenue and spent 21700000 on forest adminis administration � tration This Includes income tax col collections � lections he said He agreed with Gibson that eventually the forest industry should be made to pay the cost of re foresUtlon cur currently � rently bofie by the govern government � ment The legislation allows him to set a bidding fee on all crown timber sales Williston said he had no idea at present what the fee should be He expects the legislatures forestry committee to make suggestions In a report It Is now
