of tho highways department pipe that was left on village propertyln stead of department of highways propel ty that was readily ac cessible Mr Forsth explained that In 1958 tho department of high highways ways mule i took to lay a new water line fiom the Burns Lake Hardware to the east boundary of the municipality as they were relocating tho load Accordingly the department obtained and laid out the amount of pipe required As the work progressed It was found that 328 feet of pipe laid by the village for the old road could be tied Into the new road This was done by the depart department ment who then had 328 feet of their own pipe left over This pipe was picked up by the department and left on vil village lage property It was not until February 1961 that the village was asked for the pipe or for payment In lieu of Its return By that time the pipe had been used by the village for water extensions as It appealed the department had left it with the village
