Conservative MPs jumping in opposite directions The bill which now goes to a special committee for detailed study received second reading on a vote of 197 to 17 with only Conservatives opposing It Although pleased that the bill gained approval Liberal MPs showed delight at the split in Conservative ranks Conservative Leader Robert Stanfield and 40 party members supported second reading while
