19033820 from startup In April 1966 to the end of 1970 Intercontinental Pulp was running In the red at 109 mil lion after starting production in May 1968 Takla Forest Products which started logging and sawmill op eratlons In 1969 to feed the two pulp companies had lost 66 million at the end of 1970 Reed chairman S T Ryder said long strikes at the two Prince George pulp operations the unpegging of the Canadian dollar and poor International market conditions combined to maintain the losing trend Prince George Pulp and Paper lost 489060 in calendar 1970 Intercontinental Pulp lost 2351440 and Takla 5805091 Mr Ryder was hopeful in the report The two British Columbia pulp mills reached profitability during the early part of the year 1970 but the combined effects of the alteration in the
