Tuesday
Mayor
Lester
said
the
takeover
is
very
welcome
and
will
undoubtedly
lead
to
improved
rail
service
which
in
turn
will
aid
the
citys
development
as
a
port
As
far
as
we
are
concerned
the
government
wouldnt
do
it
unless
they
had
assurance
that
they
could
make
the

more
viable
than
it
is
how
he
said
in
an
interview
And
the
obvious
way
to
make
it
more
viable
is
to
reduce
the
cost
of
chips
used
in
making
pulp
said
the
mayor
Most
pulp
mills
bought
low
cost
chips
from
local
sawmills
but
Colcel
used
whole
logs
which
are
much
more
expensive
Mr
Lester
said
the
cost
of
chips
could
be
reduced
by
establishing
a
spur
line
from
Terrace
to
Nass
camp
and
he
is
convinced
the
provincial
government
has
just
such
a
line
in
mind
They
must
have
had
some
agreement
with
CNR
and
the
federal
government
to
put
in
a
spur
line
to
reduce
CNR
rates

to
work
