Paratroops' chief ousted for remarks
   OTTAWA (CP) - Col. Jacques Painchaud, commander of the Canadian Airborne Re-'gftnent, was removed from his post Wednesday for publicly criticizing Defence Minister Barney Danson.
 , The reprimand against Painchaud, 43, was announced * By Admiral Robert Falls, chief of defence staff, following a two-hour meeting with the commander at defence headquarters. A replacement is to be named shortly.
  . The disciplinary move follows a series of published reports during the last seven days concerning possible disbandment of the elite parat-.rdop regiment which drew comments of “stupid” from .Painchaud who also suggested tianson should resign if the reports were true.
    Painchaud, who has led the 1,000-member regiment based at Petawawa, Ont., for a year, was called on to explain his remarks. Admiral Falls then Issued this brief statement late Wednesday:
