Submitted photos Frank Peebles Citizen staff Police are on the hunt for a suspect in yet another violent crime involving a young male victim recognized by local police. A little after 4 a.m. Tuesday, Prince George RCMP were called to the 1700 block of Queensway where a passerby had come upon a badly beaten youth. “The investigation led police to the turn-around on Ingledew Street and 20th Avenue by Fort George Park where they located the victim’s bike and a trail of blood left by the victim,” said Prince George RCMP spokes- woman Const. Lesley Smith. The victim was a 22-year-old man. He was taken to University Hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw, lacerations to his face and head trauma. This incident happened only two days after the killing of another male youth, also known to police. It opened up the question about whether the two violent outbursts were connected. “It is too early in the investigation, but I don’t at this time think it is in any way connected,” said Smith. “However, this individual (the victim) is well known to us. It is unknown what transpired to result in such serious injuries. From what I understand he is being cooperative. He was able to provide police with some details before he was taken away by ambulance. He was then unconscious at the hospital for treatment, and we are waiting to speak with him further when he is medically ready. In the meantime, we are hoping somebody in the public can help us with the investigation. We know there was a gathering in that area prior to the assault. We would like to speak to those individuals.” The victim, a native male, was riding a black bike at the time of the incident. There are no clear suspects at this time, said Smith.
